Cultural Significance : Vancouver House is a unique neighborhood-scale development at the north end of the Granville Bridge. The project includes four meticulously designed buildings, with a distinctive tower emerging from a mixed-use urban village beneath the bridge. The tower's form transitions from a triangular base to a rectangular shape 500 feet above, responding to site constraints. Below the bridge, a central urban space akin to a cathedral provides a versatile area for various uses and public events. The surrounding triangular buildings support functions like working, shopping, and leisure, creating a vibrant new neighborhood.
Personal Rating : 6.5/10. After living in this apartment for a year, this is a prime example of looks pretty but is sht. The positives of this apartment are the regular concierge, balcony pool, great views, car rental options, adjacent gym and food, friendly neighbours and lego block looking rooms. On the contrary, most of the regular units feature a giant steel door that often gets locked due to its own complexity, furnished surfaces that scratch up and break easily and overall faulty construction. There was even a time where there was flooding for a few days on the first few lower floors and residents would be drenched in nasty water. Can’t speak on behalf of the penthouse and premium units, but it might be safe to assume the same.
